Penn State head football coach James Franklin has been named the Big Ten conference “coach of the year” by the league’s media. In his third year leading Penn State, Franklin has led the Nittany Lions to a 10-2 record and the Big Ten championship game Saturday night.
The Big Ten coaches have voted Paul Chryst of Wisconsin their “coach of the year”.
The latest College Football Playoff poll this week keeps Alabama ranked first, followed by Ohio State. Clemson and Washington are third and fourth. Ohio State is finished for the regular season, while the other three teams play in their conference championship games this weekend.
Michigan dropped from the top four to fifth after their double-overtime loss to Ohio State. Wisconsin is sixth and Penn State is seventh.
