Penn State Extension is offering a seminar for those considering running for local elected office.
The “Toss Your Hat in the Ring” workshop will be offered as a web-based seminar on Jan. 17 and again on Jan. 24. The webinar is one hour long.
The presentation is intended for people who have pondered serving on their school board, borough council or township board. It will provide an overview of Pennsylvania’s local government and the responsibilities of township supervisors, borough council members and school directors.
It will walk you through such things as filing a nomination petition and reporting campaign expenses. It will not offer campaign tips or strategies.
