Those looking to learn more about home food preservation are invited to participate in a Penn State Extension webinar on the subject.
The webinar titled “Living on a Few Acres: Food Preservation” will take place tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The class is for beginners and homesteaders with a focus on how to become more self-sufficient in food preservation.
Resources will be provided on how to can, freeze, or dry seasonal foods to enjoy year round. Participants will also learn about scientific principles behind preservation methods, unsafe practices, and myths.
The cost to register is $5. Anyone unable to attend the webinar can receive a link of the entire video but sign up must be completed by 8 p.m. to receive the link. Visit the Penn State Extension website for more information.
