Sidney Crosby didn’t register a shot on goal for the second consecutive game and the Penguins are left sitting at 0-2.
The lone goal came from newly-acquired forward Phil Kessel in the 1st period and the Pens would be held scoreless for the rest of the game. Coyotes goalie Mike Smith stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced.
This is the first time the Penguins have started the season 0-2 since 2010-2011.
The Penguins head to Montreal to take on the Canadians on Tuesday.
