Butler County is increasing the pay of lifeguards at Alameda Waterpark in hopes of spurring more interest in the position.
The summer seasonal job will now pay $12.50 per hour for regular lifeguards and $14 per hour for lead lifeguards.
County commissioners say it’s déjà vu after the pool struggled to hire enough lifeguards last summer, forcing the waterpark to reduce hours and days.
Daily admission for the pool has gone up to $8 although a season pass is the same rate.
Information on becoming a lifeguard can be found on the county’s website.
