The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the New England Patriots 27-16 Sunday at Heinz Field. The Steelers battled back from a 14-0 early deficit to make the game 14-13 mid-way through the third quarter, before the Patriots pulled away with a Rob Gronkowski 36-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady and a five yard run by LaGarrette Blount. The Steelers actually outgained the Patriots in yardage, but the Steelers defense allowed several big plays and Blount had 127 yards on 24 carries. Landry Jones threw for 281 yards on 47 pass attempts, however, the Steelers managed only one touchdown. Chris Boswell kicked three field goals, and missed two.
Despite back-to-back losses, the Steelers still remain atop the AFC North heading into their “bye” week. The visit the Baltimore Ravens November 6th. The Steelers are 4-3.
Baltimore lost to the New York Jets 24-16. Cincinnati defeated Cleveland 31-17. The Ravens and Bengals are 3-4. The Browns are now 0-7.
