Just like it’s done every year, a parade was held in North Washington on Monday evening to officially kick off the 59th annual North Washington Rodeo festivities.
Despite heavy rains an hour and a half before parade time and steady rains right up until the start at 6:30 pm, parade goers saw the Moniteau High School marching band, fire engines (some local and some from as far away as Pine Township, Allegheny County), and local businesses parade to the rodeo grounds on Route 38 in Petrolia.
The Butler Radio Network took part in the fun. Our station van was driven by WBUT’s Pat Parker and his son, Andre.
The rodeo runs from Tuesday through Saturday and is sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association. Proceeds benefit the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
