Police have released more information about the Butler Township fire that destroyed a house used to cook meth earlier this month.
According to Butler Township Police, two individuals did not have permission to be in the house at 129 Germaine Road at the time of the fire around 6 a.m. on Saturday, February 3rd.
An investigation using eye-witness statements, video surveillance, and physical evidence revealed that 38-year-old William Burke of Cabot and 34-year-old Brittney Rudolph of Saxonburg entered the structure some hours earlier with the ingredients and purpose of cooking meth.
Burke was taken to Pittsburgh by Life Flight for treatment of major burns on the left side of his body while Rudolph and the other occupants of the building were treated at Butler Memorial for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
Burke and Rudolph will face charges including Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Reckless Endangerment, Causing or Risking a Catastrophe, and Operating a Meth Lab.
