There’s still time for individuals or businesses who owe money to the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund to make it right.
“If you owe the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund, I urge you to make it right and start over with a clean slate,” Robert O’Brien, department of labor and industry executive deputy secretary, said.
The temporary Unemployment Compensation Amnesty Program allows individuals who were paid too much or businesses that did not pay enough to pay what is owed at a reduced rate through Sept. 30 of this year.
More than 139,000 residents and nearly 39,000 businesses owe a total of over $650 million. If you owe money and ignore this offer, you could experience many negative effects.
“Failing to resolve this financial obligation can impact your credit rating, subject you to liens on property, hinder your ability to get a loan, or prevent you from obtaining future unemployment compensation benefits,” O’Brien Said.
