The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry has been awarded a big chunk of grant money to conduct a study into paid family and medical leave.
Secretary Kathy Manderino says the $250,000 grant is coming from the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau.
Paid family leave is currently not a requirement in Pennsylvania but many state businesses do offer it.
Offering paid family leave is a law in only a handful of states- California, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New York and Massachusetts.
