Republican State Rep. Brian Ellis will serve his eighth consecutive term in office after handily beating Independent challenger Samuel Doctor.
Ellis secured 77 percent of the vote on Tuesday (about 15,000 votes) to Doctor’s 23 percent (4,000 votes).
Pennsylvania’s 11th District falls in the heart of Butler County, encompassing Butler city and township.
The district also includes Connoquenessing, Summit, Clearfield, Oakland, Donegal, Fairview townships and Chicora, Connoquenessing, East Butler, Fairview, Karns City, Petrolia, Prospect, and Saxonburg boroughs.
