Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says he plans to sue the Federal Communications Commission over net neutrality.
The FCC has decided to repeal net neutrality, which deals with the speed of the internet and if that speed is the same no matter what site you visit. Without net neutrality, Shapiro says your internet service provider can cut deals with content providers to speed up or slow down your ability to download a particular site. Shapiro told KDKA-TV in an interview on Tuesday that he believes that is anti-consumer.
The attorney general also says the names of about 100,000 Pennsylvanians and nearly two million Americans were used to issue fake public comments on this issue. To see if a fake comment was made in your name to the FCC, you can visit the attorney general’s website here.
