The owner of an Armstrong County towing company has been accused of insurance fraud.
According to a State Police report, 54-year-old Max Mohney of Mohneys Towing in Kittanning provided towing services on three separate vehicle crashes between February and May of 2015.
Police say that Mohney charged the White Pine, Eastern Atlantic, State Farm, and Penn National Insurance Companies as well as PennDOT for services he did not provide. He also allegedly charged above and beyond the fees he was allowed to charge.
Police maintain that Mohney attempted to defraud the companies of more than $18,000 over what he was due.
