The first Monday of 2016 is bringing some snow showers and frigid temperatures to western Pennsylvania.
Snow showers moved in overnight, leaving a coating of about a half an inch on area roadways and sidewalks early Monday morning. Most major roadways are clear but watch for slick spots on secondary roads. Additional snow showers are expected before 9 a.m., with an additional inch possible, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures were in the early 20s at 6 a.m. Monday and will fall throughout the day, hitting 14 degrees by 5 p.m. Wind chill values as low as zero possible.
Monday’s low could hit 7 degrees with a wind chill as low as -1.
