It’s now been more than 24 hours for some- and longer for others- since they’ve had power. For many, that means no heat.
There are still about 30,000 Butler County residents without power, as of 7 a.m. Saturday.
Of those customers, about 8,500 are Central Electric Cooperative customers. The other 22,000 are West Penn Power customers.
The biggest outages that West Penn crews are dealing with are:
About 4,000 in Butler Twp
1,000 in the city of Butler
1,100 in Clay Twp.
1,500 in Penn Twp
1,600 in Center Twp
1,000 in Summit
1,000 in Middlesex
1,000 in Winfield Twp
West Penn Power is still estimating many restoration times to be Sunday night.

More than 8,000 Central Electric Cooperative customers in Butler County are still in the dark. That’s more than 85 percent of all of their customers in Butler.
CEC’s Ken Maleski says crews are working hard to get customers back online.
At one point on Friday, CEC had roughly 14,000 customers out…so the number of outages is starting to decrease.
Nine substations had to be de-energized due to lack of power supply.
CEC is receiving help from crews from multiple other cooperatives throughout the region and all will continue working throughout the weekend.
