A power outage affecting a large number of residents in northern Butler County has been restored.
A total of over 1,600 West Penn power customers in Slippery Rock Township, Worth Township, and Slippery Rock Borough lost power around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Few details are known about the reason for the outage at this point, however some sort of transformer malfunction is suspected.
Service in the area was restored around 3:30 p.m. but some residents in Penn Township could be without power until later Friday evening.
