A medical helicopter took one person to a Pittsburgh hospital after a head-on collision this morning in Saxonburg.
It happened just before 10 a.m. on Ekastown Road, just past the roundabout. Dispatchers say a tractor trailer and a pickup truck crashed directly into each other.
When crews arrived, they found one man unresponsive in the truck. He was taken by ambulance to the Butler Airport and then flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center.
His condition at this time is unknown, although he was still unresponsive while being taken to airport.
Ekastown Road is shut down at the roundabout through Freeport Street.
