An 87-year-old New Castle man was hurt after he crashed his car on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township Friday afternoon.
According to the Butler State Police, the crash happened just before 1:30pm when the driver had a medical emergency near exit 88. Officials say that the car then struck a guard rail on the exit ramp before spinning and coming to a final stop.
The driver, who suffered unknown injuries in the crash, was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment for injuries and his medical emergency.
No charges will be filed in the crash.
