One person has died after being ejected from a car on Rt. 79 in Cranberry Township Saturday night.
The Butler State Police say that the accident happened just after 5pm between Exit 78 in Cranberry Township and Exit 83 in Jackson Township.
Authorities say that a car, driven by 23-year-old Daniel Weaver of Cranberry Township, was heading north on Rt. 79 when Weaver lost control while changing lanes. The car then went off the roadway before rolling multiple times.
Weaver’s car then rolled onto its roof, with Weaver being ejected onto the roadway through the driver’s side door. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rt. 79 was shutdown in both directions for just over three hours (reopening around 8:15pm). Traffic was stopped before being directed onto Rt. 19.
An investigation into the crash continues.
