One person has died after a police standoff that occurred in nearby New Castle on Saturday morning.
According to our news partners at WPXI, Troy Glenn Addy forced his way into an ex-girlfriend’s residence on Marshall Avenue, and threatened to kill her while pointing a gun to her head.
Officials say that the suspect then left the residence after an unspecified period of time, and entered another residence on South Jefferson Street, where he barricaded himself inside while armed.
Authorities from various local departments as well as from the New Castle Special Response Team then spent several hours negotiating with Addy at the South Jefferson residence.
Upon entrance into the residence by police, Addy was found dead. Authorities say that Addy died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
