A Westmoreland County man is behind bars after a six hour police standoff that took place in nearby Lower Burrell on Saturday morning.
Our news partners at WPXI say that the standoff began around 1:30am Saturday at the man’s home on Nanak Drive. Officials say that the man, 42-year-old Luis Gibb, is accused of assaulting his wife at the home after she picked him up from a local bar. He then pointed a loaded gun at her, and fired two shots after she left the home.
Authorities say that upon arrival, Gibb also fired several shots at officers before going inside the home. He surrendered around 8am.
Officials say that Gibb faces multiple charges, and was taken to the Westmoreland County Jail. His bond was set at $750,000.
