Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas will be at Slippery Rock University on Thursday.
SRU students were polled earlier this semester on potential campus speakers and they selected Douglas as their top choice. They will hear from her in a moderated conversation at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Smith Student Center Ballroom. General public tickets will be on sale for $5 at the door.
Douglas became the first African-American gymnast to win Olympic gold when she competed in the 2012 games in London. She won a third gold medal at the 2016 games in Rio. She was also named to Barbara Walters list as one of the “10 Most Fascinating People of 2012.”
