An Oklahoma man has pleaded guilty to charges that he manipulated an underage girl into prostitution in the Pittsburgh area.
Department of Justice officials say 38-year-old Oscar Carter of Tulsa admitted to coercing a 17-year-old Ohio girl to travel to Pittsburgh and prostitute herself back in March 2018.
Carter and his accomplice Shelby Summer Brown, who is also a prostitute, then advertised the young girl for about a week in the area.
An undercover operation found that the incidents happened at two hotels in Pittsburgh and one in Cranberry Township. The pair allegedly made thousands of dollars off the girl.
Carter faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of $500,000. Brown is already in jail after pleading guilty to a similar charge.
Sentencing will take place in November.
