Federal and state officials are touting a new bill that provides new money for bridge repairs in Pennsylvania.
$1.6 billion in federal funds will be going toward bridge projects in the Keystone State.
PennDOT Secretary Yassmin Gramian is looking forward to the money having an impact on the transportation system in Pennsylvania.
“Pennsylvania is more than ready to put these new funds to good use in meaningful projects that will modernize our infrastructure while creating sustainable, good-paying jobs that will be transformative of our transportation system and our local economies,” Gramian said.
A study last year found that 3,300 bridges in the state are “structurally deficient.”
