A crash into a fire hydrant yesterday in East Butler led to the arrest of a local man for drugs.
According to State Police, a 30-year-old Butler man crashed into vehicle into a fire hydrant about 5 p.m. Wednesday on Chicora Road in Summit Township.
Water was seen spilling out onto the roadway and traffic backed up on Lick Hill.
Officers say the man appeared to be under the influence. During an investigation, authorities allegedly found a bag of candy that had 11 stamp bags of heroin inside.
The suspect was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and did agree to a blood test.
DUI charges are pending results. The suspect has been charged with possession of drugs.
