A Butler Township police officer was injured while trying to arrest a woman allegedly high on drugs inside a local store.
Tanya Tyson, 25, of Butler, was arrested Saturday afternoon inside a restroom at the Target store at the Butler Commons shopping plaza.
Authorities suspect Tyson was under the influence of drugs when she entered the store. She walked around and then took a bag of candy into the women’s restroom.
Store employees followed her inside and found packs of candy scattered on the floor. Police were called and allegedly found Tyson shooting heroin in a stall.
Police say she resisted arrested and pushed an officer while trying to run out of the store. The officer sought medical treatment for minor injuries.
Tyson faces several charges including aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.
