The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the Los Angeles Angels last night 9-0. Starting pitcher Quinn Priester pitched efficiently through the first three innings, before surrendering three runs in the fourth and another two in the fifth.
The Angels scored runs in five consecutive innings of the game, led by two home runs from outfielder Kevin Pillar. Pirates starting pitcher Quinn Priester took the loss. He allowed allowed five runs, three earned while pitching into the fifth inning. The Angels had 15 hits in the game.
The struggles for the offense continued after being shut out last night. That now means the Pirates have scored runs in 9 out of their last 80 innings.
The Pirates and Angels face off today at 12:35 p.m. The game can be heard on WISR.
