We’ve gotten a lot of snow over the past couple of weeks, but it rarely stays on the ground this long.
According to the National Weather Service, as of Monday night there was still seven inches of snow on the ground in the Pittsburgh area.
Meteorologists say that we’ve actually had more than a half foot of snow for over the last seven days now.
That’s the longest stretch of consecutive days with more than six inches of snow since March 2010.
But, that run of snow and cold temps lasted for 32 straight days, the second longest consecutive days in recorded history.
With warmer temps today, the National Weather Service expects our current streak to come to an end.
