The first week of the year was the coldest since the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh began keeping records.
The NWS says the average temperature was 7.9 degrees. We’re currently running an average of 20 degrees below normal for the month; however, we’re expected to make a serious recovery this week.
The NWS is forecasting temperatures to rise into the mid-40s on Wednesday and hit 60 on Thursday.
