Nurses at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital are set to return to work today following a four day strike.
There is still no agreement though between the nurses union and hospital management, with the nurses citing a lack of retention efforts to help bolster the workforce.
In a press release, one nurse said that morale “is the lowest they’ve seen in 20 years.”
The 220 striking nurses have also received bipartisan support, with recent stops by Republican State Representative Abby Major and Democrat Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman.
Hospital officials say that ACMH frequently operates with staffing in excess of labor agreement guidelines.
