There will be no increase in the tax rate for Butler Township next year.
At a meeting Monday night, the commissioners finalized a budget that keeps the rate at 11.25-mills.
A general fund budget of nearly $8 million in 2016 is planned for Butler Township. This includes minor changes in wages and nearly all of what was requested by department heads in a budget meeting earlier this month. The majority of township spending goes to the areas of debt service, fire protection and into general fund.
The township has only had one rate increase in 18 years and the rate has held at the current 11.25-mills since 2012.
