Butler County residents will not see property taxes increase next year according to the County Commissioners.
The 2020 Butler County budget was presented at today’s public meeting and millage rates were projected to remain the same as last year.
The general fund budget for 2020 is just over $68 million—which is about $3 million more than 2019.
The judicial system and prison are the biggest expenditures for the county.
The general fund balance also continues to grow, with the 2020 total estimated to be about $6.5 million.
The budget is up for public review on the county’s website and will be formally voted on later this month.
