Butler Township Commissioners have achieved their budget for the upcoming 2023 year without a tax increase.
No adjustments needed to be made to the just over $9.4 million preliminary budget before final approval by the Commissioners Monday night.
This represents an increase of about $1.4 million which includes about $1 million in pass-through money from the capital reserve fund for projects like road resurfacing and storm water improvements.
Other budgetary expenses include two new police vehicles, as well as two pickup trucks for use by the road and parks departments. The costs of many items and utilities have continued to increase this year.
Responsible planning by Butler Township administrators will allow township residents to continue paying a tax rate of 11.25 mils in 2023.
