The South Butler School District continues to work toward a contract solution with its teachers.
At a meeting Wednesday night, the school board voted to approve the Fact Finding Report of Fact Finder Marc Winters. In a role similar to an arbitrator, Winters examined the facts of the South Butler situation and made a recommendation.
Although the teacher’s union requested the Fact Finding Report as part of their collective bargaining rights, District Solicitor Tom Breth said the teachers initially voted to reject the recommendations.
The teachers are expected to consider the proposal again in another vote at some point in the near future.
The 168 South Butler teachers have been without a new contract for nearly a year and a half.
