The NHL has announced a salary cap ceiling of $71.4 million for the 2015-16 season. That means the Pittsburgh Penguins will have just under $14 million remaining available for the upcoming season. League general managers have agreed to a new overtime format that will keep the shoot-out after five minutes, but will follow a 3-on-3 overtime. The recommendation moves on to the NHL Board of Governors. The NHL Awards will be announced tonight.
