The NHL All-Star game was won by the Pacific team 1-0 last night in the Championship round. A new format made its debut Sunday that saw a series of games between four teams representing each division and ending with a 3-on-3 title game. Fans voted defenseman John Scott to the game, despite the fact he has spent most of this season in the minor league’s. Scott scored two goals during the event, and was named the tournament MVP. Penguins Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang each scored goals in preliminary games.
The Pittsburgh Penguins return to the ice Tuesday against Ottawa at the Consol Energy Center.
Team Irvin defeated Team Rice 49-27 in the NFL Pro Bowl Sunday in Hawaii. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson led Team Irvin on three scoring drives, and was named the game’s MVP. The teams were drafted by Hall of Famer’s Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice.
Super Bowl 50 will be played Sunday evening. Kick-off is 6:30pm. Carolina is currently a six-point favorite over Denver.
