Notes around the NFL
- The Dallas Cowboys are facing a fine from the league for having three players suspended before the 2016 season begins. Rolando McClain, Demarcus Lawrence, and Randy Gregory are all facing suspensions before the season kicks off. It hasn’t been announced how much the fine will be, but last year’s fine for a team having players suspended was $250,000.
- Nick Foles was granted his release by the Los Angeles Rams Wednesday. That leaves Case Keenum and first overall pick Jared Goff to battle for the starting job.
- Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets agreed to a one year deal worth $12 million Wednesday evening. Fitzpatrick could make $15 million with incentives. The negotiations between Fitzpatrick and the Jets have been ongoing and tumultuous over the past six months.
