NexTier Bank has completed the purchase of Morgan Center in downtown Butler.
NexTier CEO Clem Rosenberger says several floors of the building will be remodeled to allow for employees to begin occupying that space early next year. About 100 NexTier employees who work at the company’s operations center on Pittsburgh Road in Butler Township will move downtown.
Rosenberger said continued growth of the bank has left the current operations center at full capacity.
“As NexTier has continued to grow organically and through acquisition, our support staff has also grown. Our operations center is at full capacity. The Morgan Center building is in the heart of our Southwestern Pennsylvania market and a great space for our employees,” Rosenberger said. “We were pleased to find a location that can accommodate our employees and shows our continued commitment to the Butler community.”
Morgan Center, located across from Diamond Park, was named after former owner, businessman and entrepreneur William Morgan and has been owned by his family since his passing 10 years ago. NexTier has been a tenant of the center for several years.
“As a well-known businessman and entrepreneur, Mr. Morgan was a community leader and friend of Butler County. NexTier has been a tenant of Morgan Center for many years so we were very much aware of the quality and workmanship that went into this building. Mr. Morgan certainly made sure that this building would last, as will his legacy in Butler County. We are honored to be the next owners of Morgan Center,” Rosenberger said.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
