Butler Township is investing in a piece of equipment to help with work and safety at a local park.
At their meeting earlier this week, Commissioners approved the purchase of a Kubota RTV520 from M and R Power Equipment for approximately $16,000.
This UTV will be kept at Preston Park and used for maintenance around the grounds. It will also be used first responders in the event of an emergency in a remote area of the park once a harness has been fabricated to allow for the transport of injured people.
The Friends of Preston Park organization has put $5,000 towards the purchase of this UTV so Butler Township will pay the remaining approximately $11,000. The equipment is expected to arrive and be available to park workers in about three months.
