A starting date for the next South Butler County School superintendent has been set.
Dr. David Foley will take over the top administrator position on Jan. 15, 2018. Last month, the South Butler School Board approved a five-year contract for Foley at an annual salary of $150,000.
For the past five years, Dr. Foley has been serving as the Superintendent of West Middlesex Area School District in Mercer County. Before that, Foley was an Assistant Superintendant at Pine Richland and began his teaching career as an eighth grade social studies teacher at Seneca Valley. Foley graduated from Westminster College in the early 1990s and also attended the University of Pittsburgh, Gannon University and Slippery Rock University.
Dr. Foley will replace interim Superintendent Dr. Frank Prazenica who returned to the district in August after previous superintendent Dr. David Zupsic resigned to accept another position.
