Emergency crews in Butler County could be soon receiving new software that officials say would make communication easier.
County commissioners approved the purchase of VIN licenses for new mobile data terminals, also known as MDTs.
The new MDTs would be tablets or iPads and would replace laptops that are currently used.
The county’s emergency services director Steve Bicehouse says new MDTs ideally be used by police, fire, and ambulance to help better communicate with each other and take some burden off of dispatchers.
