Butler’s new Postmaster will be among those assisting with food collection for needy families this weekend.
“I’ve been postmaster in Butler since January 1st of this year. I’ve been in the post office for almost 20 years. This is my first large office assignment. I am excited to be here and work with the community.”
Matt Kucenick has assumed leadership of local postal operations and is eager for his first Stamp Out Hunger collection in Butler.
The 25th anniversary of this event is this Saturday as Butler Mail carriers will collect non-perishable canned goods to benefit local food banks. Postal Service employee Jack Hutchinson explains who is able to donate tomorrow.
“Anybody that has a Butler zip code which is 16001, 16002, or if you’re a post office box carrier 16003 is handled out of the Butler office as well as now Lyndora, 16045.”
Last year over 8,000 pounds of food was collected in and around the Butler area.
