The City of Butler could soon have a new pizza restaurant with help from Butler Downtown’s newly-revived Revolving Loan Fund Program.
Butler City Council has approved a $35,000 loan to Scott and Kristine Taggart for the purpose of building out the first floor commercial space at 118-120 East Jefferson Street across from the Centre City Hotel.
Although the second and third floors of this building are currently apartments, renovations to the first floor are currently being made in order to accommodate Mac’s Brick Oven Pizza. Owner Spencer McKivigan has a family connection to Mac’s Route 8 Café.
Repayment of this loan will begin in four months but it is unknown at this time when the restaurant will be ready to open.
