A new state law goes into effect today that protects those who rescue children from hot cars.
Governor Tom Wolf signed a bill that provides legal immunity to Good Samaritans who damage cars if they believe a child is in imminent danger.
The National Safety Council reports 51 children died last year of pediatric vehicular heatstroke, which is more than any other year on record.
