A new fund is being created to help care for K-9 officers upon their retirement.
Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe proposed the idea at the county’s public meeting earlier this week.
He says it would fund medical visits and procedures that Bullet, the sheriff’s current K9 officer, would need when he retires.
Slupe adds that he got the idea from an Air Force member and thought it would be a great fund to have in the county.
