A former police officer was indicted by a grand jury late last week in connection with an incident from 2018.
According to our news partners at WPXI, former New Castle police officer Ronald Williams turned himself into the FBI on Friday and was later indicted on a federal civil rights violation stemming from a violent arrest.
A partial video recording of the arrest shows Williams slamming a suspect’s head several times onto a floor of a New Castle home. The video was later posted on Facebook and was shared more than 90,000 times.
Williams was later fired for excessive force following an internal investigation conducted by the New Castle Police Department.
