A developer is moving ahead with the construction of a car wash along New Castle Road after receiving approval from the Butler Township Board of Commissioners.
Hutton Butler Sharon PA ST, LLC has plans to consolidate three properties at 250 New Castle Road, near the intersection with Sharon Drive, formerly occupied by Looney Toones Tavern and two homes.
A variance regarding the township’s sound limit as a result of the blower used when cars exit the wash between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. was granted last month by the township’s Zoning Hearing Board. The township’s Planning Commission also recommended approval of the development earlier this month.
A representative for the developer stated that construction will begin in early spring as long as PennDOT grants final approval. Butler Township fire fighters are expected to use the building for training before it is demolished.
