The Butler School Board plans to use some meeting time differently beginning this fall.
Butler Superintendent Dr. Brian White proposed to the board that while one of the two board meetings a month continue to be focused on business, the other could be used to improve engagement with community members.
With each elementary school forming an advisory committee to realize a unique theme such as agriculture education at Summit Elementary, White encouraged the board to meet at a different school each month to hear from these committee members about how efforts are progressing. While business could still be conducted if necessary, this approach would allow for more engagement opportunities.
