A new bill would increase the pay of members of the National Guard.
The proposed bill would see Guard members who are on “special state duty” or “state active duty” receive $180 per day. The current pay rate is $100.
The extra pay would kick-in whenever members are placed on active duty for in-state events, emergencies, activities, or missions.
Supporters of the bill say the last pay raise came in 2016 and that it is time for an increase.
