The Netflix television show “Mindhunter” has filmed several times in Butler County over the last couple of years, and crews are back Thursday night in Zelienople.
A shoot is scheduled from 8 p.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday in front of the Strand Theater on Main Street.
Zelienople Police Chief Jim Miller says the show will film a scene where a couple is on a date. They will pull up to the Strand Theater, get in an argument and then drive away.
“That’s it,” Miller said with a laugh. “And it’s amazing what goes into filming, especially a short scene like this.”
Miller said film crews have been in town preparing since Tuesday. He says they haven’t caused any problems, and have actually been very accommodating with all the necessary permits in tow.
“They are very professional,” he said.
PennDOT will have flaggers controlling traffic, which will include alternating, one-lane traffic on Routes 19, 68 and 288.
The show is paying for added police presence to help with traffic and has come to agreements with local businesses for the inconvenience.
